In just eight short years, Scottish singer-songwriter Sandi Thom has sold over one million albums, been nominated for a Brit Award and won both Album of the Year at the Scottish Music Awards and the Ivor Novello Award for Excellence in Songwriting. Drawing praise from fans and critics alike (UK's The Times recently hailed Thom as "exquisite" and The Huffington Post praised her "fierce and honest" songwriting), Sandi Thom is known for her powerful, take-no-prisoners vocals and classic blues-rock sound. Now Thom's taking bringing her act to The Triple Door, hot on the heels of her latest album, Flesh and Blood, which features collaborations from The Black Crowes, The Rolling Stones' Bobby Keys and even the legendary Buffy Sainte-Marie. There is a parking garage literally RIGHT next to the venue. I don't recall the cost sadly (average for the area I think), but I will say it was very well guarded and if you do us it, remember to take your ticket with you as it is your key for elevator use! Also Parking technically begins on the 3rd level.Dirty Bourbon River Show travel • Aug 19 2014 star this tip starred

Ambient Electronica -Not Really Jazz
First time in the Triple Door Main Room. One of the nicest spots anywhere for Jazz, etc. A very reasonable menu from the Asian restaurant next door. This all made listening to competent background music quite acceptable, but that is what it was....endless repetition of beats with swirling passages and effects. Fusion? If you like but not very connected to the heart of jazz. Space music, electronica, something like that. Nothing that moves or matters.
