We ate at the Metropole across from the Convention Center before the play. The wonderful bartender shared sips from his stock of local vodkas and some of his homemade brandies.

The weather was windy, etc.. I wore a sweater and dressy slacks, but when I saw others in long dresses I wished I had worn a long dress as well. Such fun to see Seattleites dressing up rather than in jeans and polarfleece..

Great script, staging, and acting. A must-see. Got good seats with Goldstar.

“Funny, fierce and immensely entertaining.” —New York Daily News
“The most richly enjoyable new play for grown-ups in many a season.” —_New York Times _

Description

The public and private mythology of an iconic Republican family is challenged when their “black sheep” liberal daughter announces that she’s planning the publication of a memoir dredging up a pivotal emotional crisis in their shared past. Playwright Jon Robin Baitz, author of The Substance of Fire and creator of the hit series_ Brothers and Sisters_, compellingly examines the many faces of truth and the tangled ties that bind in this incendiary Tony Award-nominated drama.
