Little Shop of Horrors will take you on a musical journey through the streets of Skid Row to a struggling flower shop where a blood-thirsty plant from another world is eagerly awaiting its next victim. Seductive, tragic and full of delightfully demented humor, the campy classic is an onstage homage to the dark comedy genre. One of the longest-running shows in off-Broadway history and the winner of several Best Musical awards, the musical is based on Roger Corman's B-movie and was later made into an Academy Award-nominated film starring Rick Moranis and Steve Martin. A co-production with 5th Avenue Theatre, the show's '50s and '60s doo-wop, rock, and Motown-style score includes such favorites as "Skid Row," "Somewhere That's Green," "Feed Me" and "Suddenly Seymour." The public and private mythology of an iconic Republican family is challenged when their "black sheep" liberal daughter announces that she's planning the publication of a memoir dredging up a pivotal emotional crisis in their shared past. Playwright Jon Robin Baitz, author of The Substance of Fire and creator of the hit series Brothers and Sisters, compellingly examines the many faces of truth and the tangled ties that bind in this incendiary Tony Award-nominated drama.
