Seattle Children's Theatre's new musical version of the beloved English story Dick Whittington and His Cat brings the traditional charm of old London during the holiday season to charming life. Orphan Dick Whittington comes to the big city in the hope of finding the streets paved with gold. There he eventually finds his way in the world, buoyed by the kindness of others -- and an alliance with a most remarkable cat. Together, they overcome life's obstacle (and many a rat), making their way through foreign lands, past pirates and back home to good fortune and a better life. Fans of storybook adventures like Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz and James and the Giant Peach will enjoy this holiday escapade, featuring an original acoustic score. Learn More

I bought tickets for this on a whim so I didn't have any strong expectations about what to expect from the performance. I was absolutely blown away by how funny, poignant, interesting, and just excellent the entire production was. The actors did a great job bringing the stories and submissions to life with just vocal inflections and facial expressions - no costumes and no props were necessary.
The "Perfect Crime" is not something about which I typically give much thought. I am (mostly) a law-abiding citizen and my naughtiness tends to fall within legal parameters, yet I could resonate with many of the stories and my boyfriend and I spent the rest of the evening talking about some of our past indiscretions.
I'm really looking forward to the next quarter of this series!
