Little Shop of Horrors will take you on a musical journey through the streets of Skid Row to a struggling flower shop where a blood-thirsty plant from another world is eagerly awaiting its next victim. Seductive, tragic and full of delightfully demented humor, the campy classic is an onstage homage to the dark comedy genre. One of the longest-running shows in off-Broadway history and the winner of several Best Musical awards, the musical is based on Roger Corman's B-movie and was later made into an Academy Award-nominated film starring Rick Moranis and Steve Martin. A co-production with 5th Avenue Theatre, the show's '50s and '60s doo-wop, rock, and Motown-style score includes such favorites as "Skid Row," "Somewhere That's Green," "Feed Me" and "Suddenly Seymour." In this latest addition to the Late Nite Catechism series, Sister employs techniques from her favorite TV show, Forensic Files to discover the whereabouts of the Magi’s Gold. As she points out in her hilarious opening, “We know what happened to the myrrh and the frankincense – Mary used them as a sort of potpourri. They were in a barn after all. But who was the culprit who made off with the gold coins and left Mary, Joseph, and the infant Jesus in that lousy stable without any chance to upgrade to a suite?” Forensic tools in hand, Sister creates a living nativity using audience members dressed as the Holy Family, magi, shepherds, sheep, cattle…and of course, an ass. She then sets the stage for the crime by directing a local choir in songs of the season that are sure to add even more clues to her investigation.
Sister’s Christmas Catechism, with hysterical audience interaction, musical highlights, wacky prizes, nonstop laughs, and the irrepressible, irresistible Sister, is bound to make the holidays jolly and bright.
