Black Comedy follows impoverished sculptor Brindsley Miller as he tries to impress his debutante fiancée, her father, an art collector and an eccentric neighbor whose expensive furniture Miller has stolen for the night. A short fuse tumbles the evening into darkness -- and hysterical comedy -- in this 1965 one-act farce written by premier English screenwriter and playwright Peter Shaffer (Amadeus). This will be Strawberry Theatre Workshop's last performance in their longtime home venue of Erickson Theatre Off Broadway before moving into a community arts center in construction on 12th Avenue. Very nice production. Some very good young talent and a few seasoned veterans. Very nice intimate theatre, wonderful orchestra and ensemble performance. As a theatre technician, the sound and lighting were very nice too.I would highly recommend!
