Introduce your little ones to the joys of classical music with this charming adaptation of Prokofiev's musical favorite Peter and the Wolf, part of Seattle Chamber Music Society's annual Summer Festival Family Concert series. Seattle's Northwoods Wind Quintet performs an abridged, 40-minute version of the timeless classic (along with other delightful tales) and introduces children to the family of wind instruments -- flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn -- that represent characters in the story. Absolutely fantastic! I've been to this show twice and it always delivers. Full of awe for the producer, Tonya Morris, and the director/writer, Gabriella Cook, who somehow bring together dozens and dozens of dancers and musicians from across the country, with minimal time to rehearse together, into a show that is seamless and bursting with energy and talent.
