Though The New York Times compared it (glowingly) to Chinatown, the city beneath the web of intrigue spun by author Jim Lynch in his latest novel Truth Like the Sun is Seattle, as intriguing and mysterious as ever. Now Book-It Repertory Theatre adapts Lynch's widely-celebrated novel into an engrossing and thrilling stage play. In the early '60s, Roger Morgan was Seattle's golden boy, the man who sketched the design for the Space Needle on a napkin. Nearly 40 years later, he's still as charming as ever and now wants to be mayor. But his dreams might falter thanks to an unscrupulous young reporter, sniffing for dirt and stopping at nothing to find it. Jane Jones directs an adaptation by Kevin McKeon at the Centre Theatre. We dined in the Armory. We a delicious and relatively cheap dinner at Plum Pantry ($12 each) and then sat at Quincy's having a glass of wine and watching the final four before the show. It was relaxing to be just steps away and we didn't have to eat fast food.dining • Apr 06 2014 star this tip starred
