Cassandra Wilson is best known as a jazz singer and instrumentalist, but she has broken out of the traditional confines of the genre to include elements of blues, country and folk into her music. She draws on influences ranging from Miles Davis and Hank Williams to Joni Mitchell and Robert Johnson. In addition to her two Grammys, Wilson has won the Django D'Or and The Edison Music Award, and been recognized with a marker on the Mississippi Blues Trail. She also performed one of the leading roles in Wynton Marsalis' Blood on the Fields, the first jazz work to receive a Pulitzer Prize. Learn More

This was such a fun and festive way to celebrate Halloween - especially on a weekday when everyone had to get up the next morning to work so didn't want to do anything TOO crazy. I was part of a large group that went; everyone knows and loves Tim Burton's movie, so it was awesome seeing all of the characters and music on stage under new and creative interpretation (and with a slightly more adult spin). Special points go to Oogie Boogie...both the costume and the stripped-down version...
The Triple Door is one of my favorite venues, and definitely helps to make the even that much more special. All around really fun!
Building on the success of their five-year run of sold-out Halloween presentations of Viva Oz Vegas, the theatrical tricksters at Can Can Presents bring you the third annual This Is Halloween – a spectacular smorgasbord of live music, cabaret, burlesque and film inspired by Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas.
Can Can’s A-Team is about to take Triple Door audiences on a ride unlike any other they’ve ever witnessed! Follow Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie, Mayor, Lock, Shock, and Barrel, Santa Claus, and Zero to Halloween Town, where all the citizens have gathered to celebrate their holiday and success after terrifying the world.
However, Jack Skellington – the pumpkin king and most-acclaimed citizen of the town – has become tired of this holiday and no longer sees the point of scaring people. The night after the celebration he takes a long walk through the forest with his ghost dog, Zero, where he finds doorways to other holidays. Intrigued by one showing a bright green tree with decorations, Jack opens the door and falls down a hole leading into Christmas Town – and a world that will change Seattle and Halloween Town forever!
