With its rhythm-based mix of Celtic harmony and traditional African singing called Yelli, Baka Beyond is best known for its groundbreaking world-music debut disc, 1993's Spirit of the Forest. Their multicultural live shows have thrilled audiences around the globe, turning each concert into a joyful dance party. The band's roots reach to the African country of Cameroon, where married British musicians Martin Cradick and Su Hart began a musical collaboration with the Baka Pygmy people. Since then, they've also added Ayodele Scott, who brings a beat from her native Sierra Leone. Baka Beyond is a favorite at the famed Glastonbury Music Festival, which they've played 16 times, and now they're bringing their rain forest-based sound to the rainy city of Seattle. Learn More

We went for Vonda Shepard and she was fabulous. The food was good although my dish was very spicy (the spice was supposed to be left out). It had to be returned which took awhile but service overall was excellent. We were a bit disappointed in the seats--we were in the last row. We suspected we wouldn't get the greatest seats since they wouldn't assign seats in advance--that they'd give the full paying customers the better seats despite having made our reservation in advance.

Vonda Shepard was terrific. She's a great performer and played a variety of old favorites and new songs. Wonderful voice in an intimate lounge. The food at the Triple Door was of lower quality than what is served in the Wild Ginger. Food service was incredibly slow.
