Based on the camp classic 1980 movie, Xanadu was a surprise hit on Broadway when it was first adapted for the stage, and now ArtsWest gets the disco ball and roller skates spinning again. This hilarious, award-winning and family-friendly musical comedy tells the story of Kira, a Greek muse who's sent to Earth to inspire a struggling artist. The unexpected side effects of her adventure include discovering true love, battling her jealous sisters and building the world's first roller disco. The show features hit songs by Electric Light Orchestra and Olivia Newton-John, including "Magic," "Suddenly," "I Am Alive" and the title tune.

The play was well acted by everyone and the music was mostly good, although the orchestra was often louder than the singers so they were difficult to hear. Overall it was a fairly good version of Xanadu.

The venue is very nice but small. The production seemed to be struggling with the sound,so much of it was hard to hear.
The lead actress was very good, but the main actor was very weak in his singing. Saw it on Broadway and LOVED it,so this just an ok production.
