In Moisés Kaufman's acclaimed drama 33 Variations, two people share an obsession that transcends the boundaries of time. Ludwig van Beethoven fights failing health, encroaching deafness and crushing poverty over the course of his last four years as he works with mystifying obsession on his Diabelli Variations. Fast-forward two centuries to Katherine, a music scholar, who finds she must come to terms with both her daughter and with her own diagnosis of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). All the while, she remains determined to discover the creative process behind Beethoven's most confounding creation. Christopher Zinovitch directs this extraordinary play about passion, parenthood and the moments of beauty that can transform a life. The 2009 Broadway run of 33 Variations earned five Tony Award nominations. Learn More

Written on Jul 17 2012The play was well acted by everyone and the music was mostly good, although the orchestra was often louder than the singers so they were difficult to hear. Overall it was a fairly good version of Xanadu.

Written on Jul 16 2012Very entertaining....a laugh-out-loud song fest!
Written on Jul 16 2012The venue is very nice but small. The production seemed to be struggling with the sound,so much of it was hard to hear.
The lead actress was very good, but the main actor was very weak in his singing. Saw it on Broadway and LOVED it,so this just an ok production.
