A little-known American hero steps into the spotlight in Jeanne Sakata's eloquent one man show, Hold These Truths. The "Truths," of course, are the civil rights proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence and later enshrined in the Constitution. The man doing the holding -- despite enormous pressures from his own government -- is one Gordon Hirabayashi. When the government decides to mass incarcerate all people of Japanese ancestry on the West Coast, it is Hirabayashi, a college student and conscientious objector, who decides to fight for the rights of all Americans. Join him on his journey toward a greater understanding of America's triumphs and failings. Joel de la Fuente ( Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) stars in this absorbing historical portrayal.
