Hailed as one of the chief architects of the contemporary world music movement, classical tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain brings his Masters of Percussion tour to Seattle. Described as "one of the biggest stars in Indian music" by the Washington Post, Hussain has collaborated with everyone from former Beatle George Harrison and classical superstar Yo-Yo Ma to Van Morrison, Pharoah Sanders, and the Kodo Drummers, among others. Hussain has performed the world over, played sold-out shows at Carnegie Hall to critical acclaim, and is coming off a successful concert appearance at the famed Kennedy Center in D.C. This show finds the son of legendary tabla player Ustad Alla Rakha sharing the stage with a small, accomplished ensemble.

Pam Ann Stars in Cockpit: Bawdy Comedy Show Touches Down

Full Price:
$40.50 - $50.50
Our Price:
$21.50 - $26.50

Pam Ann, the A-list air hostess to the stars, is the alter-ego of Australian comedienne and LGBT icon Caroline Reid, who invites you on board for a raunchy, laugh-filled flight of fancy. In this jet-setting mixture of camp and comedy, she tackles all facets of air travel and the various quirks of airlines from around the world with ribald humor, amazing behind-the-engines insights and carry-on bags full of lewd double entendres. Now landing in Seattle as part of her profane U.S. tour, Ms. Ann has played to sold-out crowds all over the world, starred in her own Aussie TV show, and even appeared with Cher on her U.K. arena concert dates. I was disappointed actually, in both the music an the venue, and ended up leaving at intermission. There were two very long drum solos by different artists, which, while virtuoso performances, got too long and boring and macho in my opinion. There was very little of Zakir. I am sure he did a whole lot in the second half, which I missed. I was having a hard tie with the very noisy crowd, the ushers who kept seating droves of latecomers fully a half hour into the show, blocking my view, and forcing people to stand up repeatedly. I know, I'm being a whiner.
