Following up on the success of its two previous Quickies, director Moosie Drier and his ensemble will weave eight 10-minute plays together to form Quickies T(h)ree: Comedy al Fresco! The first Quckies centered around a bedroom and Quickies Too! took place in a bar, the current batch of eight plays are all set in a park, meaning grass on stage and plenty of laughs.

this is the second time we saw the Quickies series. the first was in the bedroom and was pretty awesome but this one was exceptional! we laughed through all the shorts but "princess party" and "league of awesomeness" was so funny I dropped my drink on the floor because I had to hold my stomach!

It started out slow and got funnier as the night went on. I have no kids of my own, but the best scenes were definitely those about parents and/or children: Princess Party, Village Idiots, and League of Awesomeness.

what a great evening! We brought friends who had never been to small theater & I think they're hooked. Comedy is great, writing is brilliant & the performers were fabulous. Put it on the "to do" list!

More Information About Quickies T(h)ree: Comedy al Fresco!

Description

Before each Quickies production, a new location is determined, and a play writing contest held. The best seven or eight submissions are chosen anonymously by a committee.  Those pieces are then expertly woven together to create one cohesive and hilariously funny night of theatre. The first, Friday Night Quickies!, centered around a bedroom and premiered in July 2009 to rave reviews. Friday Night Quickies also enjoyed a sold out run and three ADA nominations, including Best night of one-acts, best director, and best actress.

The sophomore effort, Quickies Too!: Scenes from a Bar, ran for the first three months of 2010 and was  a smashing success. The run was again sold out and the reviews were excellent. There was also the addition of a bar, and the audiences of every performance was extended an invitation to a party on stage following the show. This quickly became a Quickies signature tradition.

Quickies T(h)ree: Comedy al Fresco! is the newest adventure into the collaborative theatre effort.  This show takes place in the park and the play committee received three times as many writing submissions as Quickies Too! There will be grass on stage,  and laughs aplenty, every Friday night, all summer long!
