Sugar Happens is an entertaining romp through the life of an aspiring actress who finds the path to happiness can twist and dead end at any time. This one act play is lighthearted and engaging. The theatre is very nice, and the parking is easy. It's the perfect place for those of us living in the San Fernando Valley!Written on Jul 19 2007

Giggling Girls
I very much enjoyed the show, particularly the warmth, wit and vulnerability. The strong point was the performer's ability to be honestly present with the audience while sharing the story.Written on Jul 19 2007

Description
Sugar Happens: A One-Girl Show is the story of Rachel Bailit, a nice Jewish girl from New England who came to Hollywood to find love and win an Oscar. The show was developed and workshopped at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Sugar Happens has been featured twice at the Comedy Central Stage and now joins the Solo Series at the Whitefire Theatre. The show was written by Emmy-winning writer, Sherry Coben, and directed by Phil Ramuno.
Rachel Bailit was born in Boston, Massachusetts. She began a career as a broadcast journalist while still in college, reporting for television networks in Boston, Washington D.C. and New York. When her attentions turned toward acting, Rachel moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television. She trained at The Lee Strasberg Institute in Los Angeles. Along with the method, Rachel is classically trained in the Greek comedies and dramas, Shakespeare, and Restoration. She is currently a member of The Los Angeles Classical Theater Lab. Rachel played opposite Greta Scacchi in the Paramount film "Festival In Cannes," directed by Henry Jaglom. She also played alongside Jim Carrey in Ron Howard’s "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas."
