Loosely based on Leonid Andreyev's 1915 classic He Who Gets Slapped, Circus Welt makes its world premiere at the Whitefire Theatre. Set in 1933, the drama revolves around a German traveling circus made of up of Jews, blacks, gays and a communist, who hope that the growing Nazi storm will blow over.
