Round House Theatre - Silver Spring (Silver Spring, MD)
Forum Theatre presents the second of Tony Kushner's two-part Angels in America epic: Angels in America: Perestroika. In Reagan-Era New York City, a colorful array of characters confront the AIDS crisis and questions of morality, community, guilt and forgiveness. This acclaimed play won Tony and Drama Desk Awards, as well as a Pulitzer Prize.
Event summary prepared by the Goldstar Editorial Team.

Perestroika covers many of the same themes as Millenium Approaches, but in a much more overtly 'theatrical' way. Forum Theater rose to the occasion by mounting a Part 2 that is equally moving as its strong "Millenium Approaches". Acting was strong throughout in Part 2, especially by the actors playing Prior Walter and Hannah Pitt. Wheeling the Angel around the proceedings was a brilliant choice.

This is a terrific production of a very difficult play. Cast is excellent. Don't miss it.

If you saw part I, you will not be disappointed. The cast remained very strong to the end - all 3 1/2 hours, which actually flies by. The outcome was uncertain until the very end....no chance of loosing interest.
