Our Price:

With this modern reinvention, Tony Kushner (Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of Angels in America) triumphantly reinvents L'illusion Comique,, the fascinating, theatrical fairy-tale first told by French classical dramatist Pierre Corneille more than 370 years ago. A father, on a mission to reunite with his estranged son, enlists the services of a powerful sorcerer who conjures up provocative images from the young man's life. The father is led deep into a maze of romance, intrigue, conspiracy, and murder. But just how much of it is true? Witty and profound, timely and transcendent, The Illusion weaves reality and truth with the magic of the theater. Learn More

Description

redshirts explores a sports scandal involving college football players at a Division I university and investigates the multifaceted social behavior of student athletes. Eighteen-year-old Dante Green is an all-star running back at Tennessee Southern, but is less than stellar in the classroom. His academic integrity is called into question when an English professor accuses Dante of plagiarism. Suddenly caught between pride and insecurity, Dante, along with his coach and teammates, are at a moral crossroads. The line between right and wrong is blurred as these characters tackle the conflict between commercial success and academic integrity.

This production marks the world premiere.
