Actors Repertory Theatre of Simi presents the classic story To Kill a Mockingbird. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning Southern novel by Harper Lee, this adaptation by Christopher Sergel follows the journey of Scout Finch whose father Atticus has been appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man framed for a crime he did not commit. As the trial progresses, Scout and her brother Jem see their community divided over issues of justice and racism. The tale compels us to take an honest look at our nation's past and our moral responsibility to each other. The production features veteran actor Don Swayze (True Blood) as Atticus Finch and former NFL player Dwight Hicks as Tom Robinson. Learn More

This was a pleasant community theater effort, one that left the audience with a warm feeling. Although enjoyable, the musical itself bears no memorable tunes or dialog. The interpretation of the material and the job by the performers was competent. But all in all, a pleasant experience.

I really liked the message that was portrayed and this musical version is fantastic. It was a bit long and drawn out, but it was enjoyable overall. The actors were wonderful with all the singing and dancing. They looked like they worked very hard to pull this all together.

Wonderful play. So many talented actors. It was a full house and the actors had so much energy. Loved the kids singing the carols in the lobby.
