Actors Repertory Theatre of Simi presents the classic story To Kill a Mockingbird. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning Southern novel by Harper Lee, this adaptation by Christopher Sergel follows the journey of Scout Finch whose father Atticus has been appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man framed for a crime he did not commit. As the trial progresses, Scout and her brother Jem see their community divided over issues of justice and racism. The tale compels us to take an honest look at our nation's past and our moral responsibility to each other. This dance showcase features original works by professional choreographers, local dance studios and guest artists in jazz, ballet, hip-hop and modern dance as well as other multicultural and ethnic dances. The professional choreographers are represented by L.A.'s top agencies such as Clear Talent Group and McDonald Selznick Associates (MSA). They have also worked with the likes of Jessica Simpson, Liza Minelli, Stevie Wonder, Belly Twins and numerous other artists and dance companies.
