Good show. I'd actually give it about a 4.5 but if I did that I might discourage some people from going. GO! You'll enjoy it!

On the negative side, even though the singers all had individual mikes, I had a bit of a difficult time understanding ALL the words sung by the female singers. But, I think that is typical of female singers....it's a bit more difficult to understand the words of most female singers as compared to male singers.

This venue of The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center ALWAYS has wonderful shows...and this is one of them!

Once On This Island, an enchanting musical fable, tells the story of forbidden love between people from two different worlds. Originally inspired by Hans Christian Anderson's The Little Mermaid, the Broadway show transports the story to a Caribbean island where social prejudice divides the people. Presented as a "play within a play," a cast of village storytellers, attempting to calm a frightened young child, tell the romantic tale of a peasant girl who saves a rich city boy from death.
