Eight-year-old Tina Denmark knows she was born to play Pippi Longstocking and will do anything to win the part in her school musical--including murdering the leading lady! This aggressively outrageous musical hit garnered rave reviews during its long Off-Broadway run, during which Britney Spears understudied and played the leading role.

Actors Repertory Theatre of Simi presents the classic story To Kill a Mockingbird. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning Southern novel by Harper Lee, this adaptation by Christopher Sergel follows the journey of Scout Finch whose father Atticus has been appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man framed for a crime he did not commit. As the trial progresses, Scout and her brother Jem see their community divided over issues of justice and racism. The tale compels us to take an honest look at our nation's past and our moral responsibility to each other. The production features veteran actor Don Swayze (True Blood) as Atticus Finch and former NFL player Dwight Hicks as Tom Robinson. Learn More

The show had it's moment.

The performers were all incredible, and they would shine in some other type of production.

It was a pleasure to hear them sing. They all had great voices.
I always enjoy seeing Farley in any production.

The six-member cast of this production is outstanding! The story is a bit goofy, not as good as the famous musical "Gypsy." Still, the actors and musicians do a wonderful job and the show is highly entertaining.

Quotes & Highlights

  • "A wonderfully smart and funny sendup of every Broadway brat from Gypsy to The Bad Seed ... loaded with campy wit and charm." --Variety

Description

Mix together The Bad Seed, All About Eve and Gypsy--and nearly every other story about stage mothers and precious brats--and you've got Ruthless! It's a show packed with great music, zany characters and laughs aplenty.
