Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning Southern novel by Harper Lee, this adaptation by Christopher Sergel follows the journey of Scout Finch whose father Atticus has been appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man framed for a crime he did not commit. As the trial progresses, Scout and her brother Jem see their community divided over issues of justice and racism. I cannot believe how this local house in Simi Valley pulled off such a difficult show. CHAPERONE is wildly entertaining and mischievous, sort of like the SPINAL TAP of Broadway musicals. I saw it three times at the Ahmanson (Twice with the show-stopping Sutton Foster) and once in 1000 Oaks (a bech road show). This production was magnificent. It's a tough show and they got it right. And because it's a smallish house, it was even more fun.

And the actors! Wow! Good going, guys...

Very, very funny plot! Truly superb cast and Adolfo (played by George Chavez) was through the roof hilarious. Add dancing, amazing vocals, and a fabulous Orchestra making for a truly memorable performance. I'm going to see it again this Friday with family and friends!

Very good production of a very funny show. You'll have a good time if you just go with it. Small theater even has a live orchestra. If you like musicals you'll like this.

It was a fun event. It was easy to pretend to be in New York watching live theater. The venue was amazing - very cozy - even in row G - you could see all the facial expressions of the cast and the musicians. Very delightful. Will see next event - Jesus Christ Superstar.
