Actors Repertory Theatre of Simi presents the classic story To Kill a Mockingbird. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning Southern novel by Harper Lee, this adaptation by Christopher Sergel follows the journey of Scout Finch whose father Atticus has been appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man framed for a crime he did not commit. As the trial progresses, Scout and her brother Jem see their community divided over issues of justice and racism. The tale compels us to take an honest look at our nation's past and our moral responsibility to each other. The production features veteran actor Don Swayze (True Blood) as Atticus Finch and former NFL player Dwight Hicks as Tom Robinson. Learn More

I don't know why there are empty seats for this wonderful show. As always I enjoyed the Simi shows.Written on Apr 28 2008

The theatre is an intimate venue - the seats could be angled better to improve the sightlines - but otherwise decent. It was extremely warm in the balcolny seats - so I would recommend wearing layers. The performances in general were good community-theatre level - some standouts but not the lead, unfortunately. The friends/supporters of the theatre group were overzealous - or seemed so as many were sitting in the row in front of us. The orchestra was excellent! All in all, an enjoyable, affordable evening. Very fun production. Laughed a lot. Some foul language as the characters are blue collar workers in Buffalo.Written on May 19 2008

More Information About The Full Monty - The Musical
Description
As the guys work through their fears, self-consciousness, feelings of worthlessness and anxieties – over everything from being overweight to child custody, bigotry to being gay – they come to discover that not only are they stronger as a group, but that the strength they find in each other gives them the individual courage to face their respective problems and overcome them.
There is great heart to The Full Monty and the ultimate themes expressed in the show, about taking charge of one’s life and following one’s dreams are great lessons for all of us. Truth be told, through creative directing and staging, the final impact of "The Full Monty" can be achieved without ever losing your jockey shorts, however the show is not called the "The Half Monty"...!
