Actors Repertory Theatre of Simi presents the classic story To Kill a Mockingbird. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning Southern novel by Harper Lee, this adaptation by Christopher Sergel follows the journey of Scout Finch whose father Atticus has been appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man framed for a crime he did not commit. As the trial progresses, Scout and her brother Jem see their community divided over issues of justice and racism. The tale compels us to take an honest look at our nation's past and our moral responsibility to each other. The production features veteran actor Don Swayze (True Blood) as Atticus Finch and former NFL player Dwight Hicks as Tom Robinson. Learn More

I had some hesitation about this show when I saw it was playing in Simi Valley which is quite a drive. I was even questioning my sanity as I was driving there on Saturday night and heading away from the city into this sleepy little town. I started getting fearful that this was going to be some kind of hokey high school production. So the first pleasant surprise was the venue, which architecturally was very nice compared to some of the hole in the wall theatres I've been to in Hollywood. But, as soon as the performance started, I knew the evening was saved. This is an amazing production with a fantastic cast, great music & dancing. So the moral of this review is....don't be afraid of the drive...it's going to be worth it..Written on Apr 05 2010

The show stayed true to the movie version while adding almost all original music. I am also very happy they included a couple of the movie songs because that is what made the movie great. Great talented cast and everyone was very friendly.Written on Mar 28 2010

Description
It’s 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He’s the life of the party -- until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. Only trouble is Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of the decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.
Based on the classic film starring Adam Sandler & Drew Barrymore, The Wedding Singer is a light romantic comedy set in a world of 80s-filled nostalgia. The musical never takes itself too seriously, but instead brings back many memories of that decade's pop culture
The Wedding Singer contains adult language and adult situations that might not be suitable for young children. Parental discretion is advised.
