Born at a Mardi Gras party in Portland, Oregon, MarchFourth Marching Band has become one of the nation's best live touring acts -- and you can catch them outdoors on Pier 15 backed by beautiful waterfront views. More than just a concert, a MarchFourth show is a celebration, with stilt-walkers, unicyclists, fire eaters, puppets, flag twirlers, clown antics, acrobatics and more, accompanied by an eclectic big band in marching band costumes. Anchored by funky electric bass and featuring a 12-piece horn section and a 10-piece drum/percussion corps, MarchFourth takes you on a journey from the swamps of Louisiana to the gypsy camps of Eastern Europe to the African jungle by way of Brazil, while honoring the musical traditions of American funk, rock and jazz. The Harlem Gospel Choir has traveled the world for 26 years sharing its joy of faith while fundraising for children’s charities. Founded in 1986 by Allen Bailey, the Choir presents the finest singers and musicians from black churches in Harlem and the New York City area. The theme of every performance is “bringing people and nations together, and give something back”. The Choir has performed alongside superstars including Andre Rieu, Diana Ross, Bono, The Chieftains, Simple Minds, Live, Sinead O’Connor, Kim Wilde, Lyle Lovett, Josh Groban, Lisa Marie Presley and the Gorillaz. The Harlem Gospel Choir has also had solo performances for Royalty, President Obama, Nelson Mandela, Popes, Elton John, the Michael Jackson memorial and now SOPAC.
The Choir embodies the spirit of American Gospel. Every concert is infectiously enthusiastic, a roller coaster ride of singing and dancing, a gospel celebration!
