We had such a good time we stayed another day to watch the next match!!! It was great fun and really well organized!

Ad was misleading. The 11am match was not Williams/Sharapova.

With so few in attendance, all patrons should have been invited to sit in the shade.

Description

The Bank of the West Classic is the longest-running women-only professional tennis tournament in the world and is the first stop of the Emirates Airline US Open Series. Owned and operated by IMG, the WTA Premier event features a 28-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles draw with total prize money of $795,000. Held on Stanford University’s campus at Taube Family Tennis Stadium since 1997, former champions include: Billie Jean King, Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Andrea Jaeger, Monica Seles, Martina Hingis, Lindsay Davenport, Serena Williams, Venus Williams and Kim Clijsters.

Stanford University, in its magnificent setting, situated in the heart of Silicon Valley, has played host for the Bank of the West Classic since 1997. Bank of the West has held the title sponsorship of the event since 1992, making their relationship and commitment to tennis one of the strongest in the world. IMG is among only a handful of independent entities working on the campus and the only company that conducts an event for a consecutive 10 day period.
