About the Ticket Supplier: Academy Theatre
Founded in 1956 by Frank Wittow, the Academy Theatre has been highly regarded for its productions of classic and contemporary plays, as well as its strong educational outreach programs – including a Theatre for Youth Artists-In-Schools Tour, Senior Touring Ensemble and numerous play development projects with underserved, at-risk and special populations. The Academy Theatre was the first professional theatre in the Southeast to integrate, premiered one of America’s first Shakespeare Festivals in 1960, and initiated a commitment to arts-in-education in Georgia schools that continues to this day. More than two million Georgia school children have been served through the Academy’s highly acclaimed, innovative performances.
