Starring Johnny Lee Davenport (The Fugitive), The Unbleached American is based on the true story of Ernest Hogan. Dubbed the "father of ragtime" and the first African-American to perform on Broadway, Hogan enjoyed legions of fans and considerable wealth in his life. However, he also wrote many songs considered offensive to his own race. As Hogan looks back on his career he struggles with both his mortality and the legacy he leaves behind. While this is mainly a historical drama, The Unbleached American still raises relevant questions about today's society and the way prejudices continue. Learn More
Written by a stand-up comedian, this one man comic tour-de-force introduces audiences to Barnaby Gibbs—a kind-hearted but thoroughly dim-witted and clueless young Englishman who inadvertently becomes the Dr. Watson-like sidekick to brilliant detective Antoine Feval, not realizing that his new partner is actually the master thief who’s been robbing the city blind. Good guy Barnaby eagerly recounts his adventures in a story full of twists, turns and “gadzooks!” moments that are sure to keep audiences in stitches!
