Starring Johnny Lee Davenport (The Fugitive), The Unbleached American is based on the true story of Ernest Hogan. Dubbed the "father of ragtime" and the first African-American to perform on Broadway, Hogan enjoyed legions of fans and considerable wealth in his life. However, he also wrote many songs considered offensive to his own race. As Hogan looks back on his career he struggles with both his mortality and the legacy he leaves behind. While this is mainly a historical drama, The Unbleached American still raises relevant questions about today's society and the way prejudices continue. Learn More

If you like Masterpiece Theater, you will like I capture the castle. The English are known for their eccentrics and this family has them but they are in utter poverty. When the heir comes over from America to view his property the two sisters of the castle go after him to bring in an income.
In this rediscovered gem of a play, the lives of 17-year-old Cassandra Mortmain and her eccentric English family are turned upside down with the arrival of a handsome new landlord. As the Mortmains struggle to accept the strangers in their midst, new possibilities and new love unexpectedly begin to bloom. Dodie Smith (also author of The One Hundred and One Dalmatians among others) adapted her delightful romantic novel for the stage in 1954. Terry Teachout, of the Wall St. Journal wrote, “The word ‘irresistible’ is rarely true, but I don’t see how anyone not descended from Scrooge McDuck could fail to fall for I Capture the Castle.”
