Cheapskate, and proud of it!

Decent history of the Andrew Sisters. Musicians/actors all good. Fun. Don't think one has to know much about the era to enjoy it, but those over 50 will probably find more to smile/laugh at than those under. Sound system very good.

The story line was great and the ladies sang their hearts out to through out the 2 hour show. They tell the story of the three from childhood growing up outside of Michigan to what Patty the youngest and only one left was doing now. Money well spent.

They sold more than 90 million records, nine of them gold. They had more Top Ten hits than the Beatles or Elvis. And they are still one of the best-selling female vocal groups of all time. Audiences understand why when they see Sisters of Swing: The Story of the Andrews Sisters.

This book musical follows sisters LaVerne, Maxene and Patty Andrews from their early days on the road through their rise as recording stars to entertaining American GI’s overseas to dissembling over differences. The score intermingles over twenty hit songs like "Bei Mir Bist Du Schon," "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy." This show goes beyond the ordinary to offer a unique perspective into these women as human beings, showing how the events of their lives shaped who they became to the rest of the world.

In its short interim, Sisters of Swing has charmed and sold-out to audiences in Minnesota, Wisconsin, New York, Florida, Texas, Georgia, Oregon, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.

About Stoneham Theatre:

Stoneham Theatre was originally built in 1917 as a venue for silent movies and vaudeville acts, and it became a popular entertainment spot for over 50 years.

In the early 1970s, as move theater chains began to flood the market, Stoneham's beloved independent moviehouse was closed. It remained vacant for nearly three decades until an ambitious two-year restoration transformed the theatre into a 350-seat, state-of-the-art performance venue. On December 1, 2000, it celebrated a Grand Re-Opening.
