The place is really quaint. Liz and her helpers are nice. However, as one reviewer said, this is not really a cooking class. She gives you some basic instruction then your group (up to four people to the table) are sent to pick up the...continued

Fun class, great food and darling location. Everyone divides into small groups and each group cooks a couple of the recipes, then tastes everything as a group at the end of class. We had a nice bunch of people in the class and lots of fun.

October 27, 2014: Roast, Braise & Steam — Cooking Basics Part 4

Cooking classes focus on techniques. Students will work in groups to gain hands-on experience, supplemented by an instructor demo. The class goal is to provide a fundamental knowledge of the subject. Brief knife skills included with lesson.

What’s on the Menu:

  • Fish in Papillote or Roasted/Baked white fish with gremolata sauce
  • Braised Chicken Thighs with Button Mushrooms (braise and stew)
  • Roasted Herbed Potatoes or Rosemary Roasted Vegetables
  • Rice Pilaf
  • Baked apples and pears with (optional) nuts

November 1, 2014: French Macarons – Baking Class

This is a class on the famous French "macaroons"—with new flavor combinations to enjoy—so fans of our previous macarons classes and beginners are welcome. These versatile little sandwich cookies have been famous for years in Paris and are obviously quite popular here too! First, our chef instructors will show you the secrets behind baking these up perfectly every time. Then, we’ll share tips on adding new flavors and prepare different types of fillings so students can mix and match according to their tastes and create an infinite variety of these delectable desserts at home anytime. Students get a macaroon piping template emailed after class

What’s on the Menu:

  • Tangy Orange Macarons with a lemon curd center
  • Lavender Macaron with a Chocolate Ganache filling
  • Coffee Cream Macaron with a Vanilla filling
  • Hot Coffee/Cream will be served

November 9, 2014: Artisan Bread Baking Class

There is nothing like the mouthwatering aroma of fresh baked bread wafting through the house. Bread is a delicious necessity with every meal. Once you learn the basics, making fresh, home-made bread is a delight. Our Chef will show you how to master the “art” of bread making. In this class, our Chef will teach you about blooming yeast, mixing doughs, proofing and baking breads to create fresh-baked breads that you and your family will savor.

What’s on the Menu:

  • French Bread – Individual Mini Baguettes
  • Rosemary and Sea Salt Foccacia Bread
  • Southern Biscuits with Cinnamon Honey Butter
  • Soft Pretzels with Dijon Mustard
  • All breads will have a dipping sauce made in class to enjoy!
    Free dough scraper will be passed out compliments of King Arthur Flour.

November 16, 2014: Indian Flavors Cooking Class

Bring your sari and a dash of curry to create delicious Indian meals that will surely make your mouth water. In this class we open the door to just a few basics of Indian cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavors that we think will pique your interest to learn more. Whether you are a vegetarian or simply enjoy Indian flavors, this culinary class is the perfect way to learn how to prepare healthy and delicious Indian food.

What’s on the Menu:

  • Naan Bread from scratch
  • Baked Samosas
  • Spicy Red Lentil Dahl
  • Vegetable Biryani Pilaf
  • Chicken Tikka Masala
  • Chai Latte from Scratch

Must be 21 and over to taste wine, beer or alcohol.

For evening classes, you can also bring in your own bottle of wine or beer if you would like. There is no corkage fee.
