Honk! itself is well-written, although the humor is rather adult. the children did their best, and many have excellent voices. The real problem - and it is a problem for young children - is the length. 2 1/2 hours is way too long for a child to watch a play performed by other children who have not yet learned how to hold an audience. Honk should have had a full hour cut from its length, whether it be by cutting all the songs to one verse, or by cutting the script.Written on Feb 28 2012

Super long and boring. Small kids were not interested in the play, it was involved in language. Bigger kids felt play was for little kids because of the theme. More of a show for parents to see their kids acting (as they were the only ones screeming when their kids finished their performance which was pretty obvious and cheesy)The kids acting were trying to do their best. Can't imagine how difficult it was for them to learn all of that play, not worth it.http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000E157X0?m=ATVPDKIKX0DERWritten on Feb 28 2012

The children performing in the play were terrific; the play itself was fairly slow in the first act, which made it hard for the younger of the two grandhildren to follow. The second act, with its welcome resolutions of finding out who he really was, re-joining his mother, and then meeting a mate who would return with him to his old neighborhood was delightful. The underlying message was clear with all the animals at the end: we can all exist together, no matter what our differences.Written on Feb 28 2012
