Based on the enduring 1905 novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett (author of The Secret Garden), this musical adaptation of A Little Princess centers around Sara Crewe, a precocious young girl who's left at the mercy of a cruel headmistress after her father mysteriously disappears while searching for Timbuktu. Though made to work as a servant in a boarding school, Sara finds within herself the heart of a princess in this song-filled adaptation, designed to delight adults and kids alike. The musical was written by Brian Crawley and Tony-nominated composer Andrew Lippa (Big Fish, The Addams Family), and is presented by the Sunnyvale Community Players in a junior production comprised entirely of talented young performers between the ages of eight and 18.
