Take a doo-wop and Motown music-filled journey through the streets of Skid Row to a struggling flower shop where meek worker Seymour has discovered an exotic plant that makes him an overnight sensation. One problem: the plant apparently craves human blood. This campy classic -- one of the longest-running shows in off-Broadway history -- was based on a '60s B-film and later made into an '80s blockbuster starring Rick Moranis and Steve Martin. Relive delightfully dark tunes like "Somewhere That's Green" and "Suddenly, Seymour" as the nerdy-but-lovable underdog romances his sweetheart and fights the monstrous plant -- which, it turns out, is actually an alien intent on world domination. My wife and I had a wonderful experience watching the Musical The Wizard of Oz from Sunnyvale Community Players. We were not expecting such a high standard in terms of production, performance, costumes, text, music, etc. Everything seemed amazingly right. I was impressed to see so many incredible talents on stage. My wife cried at the first song and at other times during the two acts. We loved every singer, every scene, every setting. We were filled with joy throughout the spectacle. I just can't write enough to tell how much we loved this show. Considering the proportions, I don't think any Broadway musical will surpass our extremely positive reaction to The Wizard of Oz from Sunnyvale Community Players!
Thank you all for the incredibly great work!
All the best!
