The performance was wonderful, although Gordon's voice is noticeably weakened. Some of the fans were horrible though, their shouts of "I love you Gordon!" so disturbing that Mr. Lightfoot himself finally shouted back, "You mean you love my music!" The hall is very shabby, and the seats especially are very narrow and uncomfortable.

Gordon is getting up there in years and his voice is quite raspy but he put on a good show, engaging well with the audience. Enjoyed it. His 4 piece back-up band was another story. They were all lifeless--literally void of any character, personality or even a smile on their face. Goldstar came through as always. Great price. Great seats.

Gordon was wonderful. He is such a beautiful songwriter. As for the Tarrytown Music Hall, they were less than customer friendly. The seats in the balcony are very cramped for a large person. To add to the uncomfortableness they actually made an announcement before the show That they would be shutting off the AC during the show as the music would be low. It was not necessary and was a health issue for the patrons on top of it. Because of customer complaints during intermission they didn't shut it down all together the second half. They need to amend this kind of thinking.

I absolutely loved it. It was pretty much a full house and so many people screamed and whistled with excitement after each song!!!

I walked out feeling so mellow and happy! Haven't felt that relaxed in a long time.

Can't wait to see him again!!!!!!

More Information About Gordon Lightfoot

Description

Gordon Lightfoot first began to gain recognition in the mid-'60s as a songwriter when his compositions "For Lovin' Me" and "Early Morning Rain" became hits for Peter, Paul & Mary, and Marty Robbins topped the country charts with "Ribbon of Darkness." It was not until the start of the '70s that he became a big success as a solo performer, scoring in 1970 with Sit Down Young Stranger, which contained his hit "If You Could Read My Mind,". Lightfoot hit a peak in 1974 with Sundown, which went to number one, as did the title song when released on a single. Harmony, his 20th album, was released in May of 2004.
