Mark Twain's classic boyhood adventure tale comes to the stage in a fresh musical adaptation, Tom Sawyer: An American Legend in Music. Set in 1840, this is the story of a fourteen-year-old boy growing up in a bustling town on the banks of the Mississippi River. Tom's Aunt Polly wants to raise Tom to be respectable, but Tom is more interested in getting into trouble with his ne'er-do-well pal Huck and trying to win the heart of the beautiful, feisty Becky Thatcher. From whitewashing the fence to attending his own funeral to a thrilling showdown in the caves with the villainous Injun Joe, all of Tom Sawyer's classic moments get new life with this sparkling musical. The show started on slow foot but got better as time progressed. The juggler was more show than act. The dresses Swing Dolls wore were fantastic, particularly for the ABBA number on "Dancing Queens" and the "Mini Skirts". The end of the show with the rendiution of Andrews sisters signature song "Bugle...." was excellent.
