From Robert Plant's scorching vocals and John Bonham's thundering drums to Jimmy Page's trademark guitar riffs, tribute band Led Zeppelin 2 captures the dynamic experience of one of rock's legendary live bands. Combining the blues with hard rock, the original Led Zeppelin turned out countless classics, from the epic "Stairway to Heaven" to jams like "Black Dog," "Whole Lotta Love" and the psychedelic "Dazed and Confused." Fronted by Bruce Lamont of the critically acclaimed avant-metal group Yakuza, Led Zeppelin 2 has headlined major venues across the U.S. and is renowned for recreating the true Zep concert experience. I decided to go see Dark Star Orchestra last night at the last minute due to the availability of discounted tickets and I'm very glad that I did. They recreated the Oct 17th, 1978 show at the Winterland Arena in San Francisco, CA. The show was warm and hosted an enthusiastic crowd dancing and singing along. The steel drum island jam during Drums and Eyes of the World were highlights. Although I am not a fan of venue or its management, the quality of the music more than made up for the unpleasantness of the staff.
