The only way to see 'Dream' is at the Botanicum!

The cast try their best but possibly lack direction. Puck should steal the show but does not and the play within a play at the end is acted with the words spoken too quickly and unclear therfore the funniest parts are lost. ALL actors need to project their voices more.

In spite of all the above I encourage all to go to the Theatricum the staff & food are great and it is a wonderful night under the stars!

I've seen "Midsummer" many times before -- even in previous seasons at the Theatricum, but this was the very best, the very funniest, production ever!

Really lovely. Very funny. Well crafted. I am reluctant to recommend it because the theater was full and I want space to go again!!!

Midsummer night Dream at Theater Bottanicum in Topanga Canyon. Wonderful performance in every way. The environment of being seated under the Sycamore trees, and having a picnic dinner after the performance to the side of a veg garden and by a gorgeous apple tree, was splendid. Don't miss this wonderful cast of actors. Exceptional!!!

I bought tickets for a group of four. I thought the outdoor theatrical performance was very pleasant, educational and entertaining. A few other comments from my friends: 'Very enjoyable performance. Nice venue. Excellent acting and staging. And best of all, the performance was a great value, due to the Goldstar pricing!' and 'Spectacular performance!'

This was an incredible experience! The cast was great! Puck was the best part of the show. I laughed and loved every moment of the play. If you want to enjoy a magical time, this is the best way to see MND! The only downside is if it's a really hot day, even though they have a net to take away some of the direct sun, it can still be a bit hot. Wear a hat, sunblock and then go to Inn of the Seventh Ray to have dinner. This will be the best date or day/eve ever!

A nice night out amongst the chirping crickets -- those we could take, but the people who brought crying babies, smuggled in food and left their cellphones on were annoyingly rude. One guy not only left his phone on, he answered it midshow and started talking! As for the babies, they cannot possibly appreciate Shakespeare -- leave them at home, that's what babysitters are for. These are wonderfully nice people who ask that you respect the performance space, and to smuggle in food just because you may get hungry is amazingly selfish.

This was my first time at the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum, and I enjoyed it very much. The picnic area in front of the theater offers tables and chairs. Only water is allowed in the theater; therefore, one has to eat before the play. The play was very entertaining and funny. Most of the story was easy to understand by paying attention to the action, but I recommend to read about the storyline before coming to this play as the program does not offer any information in regards to the story.

The amphitheater is rather small and very appropriate for this play, because it is surrounded by lots of green scenery. The performance had a cozy feeling of an intimate show. I absolutely loved the actress that played the role of Helena and the actor playing Bottom's part. Both were amazing. Overall, I had a great time.

My family and I spent a lovely summer afternoon seeing this rendition of A Midsummer Night's Dream. It was our first time at the outdoor theater; what a gorgeous spot. The actors did a great job, costumes were well done...all together very enjoyable. I highly recommend it.

    Website: http://www.theatricum.com/Season.htm

In a place of enchantment inhabited by lovers both fairy and human, three worlds collide: the unrequited loves of Demetrius, Lysander, Hermia and Helena; a rehearsal of the Pyramus and Thisby legend by a group of Rustics; and the domestic troubles in the land of the fairies.

Shakespeare's powerful language evokes a brilliant world of wonder, magic and romance, where confusions are resolved and all is reconciled through midsummer night revelries and faith in the power of nature.
