The band was fantastic - one of the best Celtic Music groups I have ever heard. It was open seating in the lower tier, and I was in the first row center right on the aisle, for a great view of the musicians. The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum is in a beautiful setting, and you can purchase wine for a donation. It was a wonderful experience overall.Written on Jun 23 2009

Never having been to the Will Geer Theatricum I didn't know what to expect. I had the best time -- the atmosphere was incredible. Old Blind Dogs were magical. The music was beautiful and really made me homesick for Ireland. I will be back for more that's for certain.Written on Jun 22 2009
Cheers and Thanks for a wonderful evening!

- “The band keeps its modern grooves authentic by following Robert Burn’s 200–year-old model of applying original arrangements to traditional forms.” --Acoustic Guitar Magazine
Description
<p>For 15 years, a strong musical vision has carried the group through many world tours, personnel changes and new musical directions. At the heart of their worldwide acclaim is a desire to touch people through song. The concert at Theatricum is part of a west coast tour that will take the band up to Alaska and back down to Southern California. A hectic schedule does not deter the band from giving their all to the music. “The Old Blind Dogs play with a compelling energy and intoxicating rhythm as players and audience seem to share a wild ecstasy of emotion,” says The Scotsman.
‘There’s an honesty about live performance and we work hard on stage,” says lead vocalist Jonny Hardie, “we don’t really pace ourselves; we just go for it. I think ours is very immediate music.”
The Dogs have released ten albums. Their most recent is Four on the Floor, on Compass Records with original band member Jonny Hardie (fiddle, guitar and vocals), Aaron Jones (bass, bouzouki, guitar, vocals), Rory Campbell (Border (Reel) Pipes, Whistles, Vocals) and Fraser Stone (Drums, Percussion).
