Dance company Diavolo has developed a reputation for their athletic, acrobatic, dramatic movement on larger-than-life, surrealistic sets and structures. These internationally renowned performers are more than just dancers -- they're gymnasts, actors and athletes who rely on teamwork as well as skill. Under the guidance of artistic director Jacques Heim, they investigate the relationship between humans and the architectural environment and the ways in which these urban structures affect us socially, emotionally and physically. Spoken word artist Steve Connell brings voice to the ideas presented by Diavolo. This pre-sale offer gives you access to some of the best seats before tickets go on sale to the general public. This splendid production, a magical treat for all, is a time-honored holiday story that comes to life to the brilliant score of Peter Tchaikovsky with uplifting surprises and exciting new twists. Unique to Charles Maple’s The Nutcracker, as performed by South Bay Ballet, is the presentation of Clara as a young girl who dreams of becoming a ballerina. In her dream Clara grows up and dances with her Nutcracker Prince in a performance at the Kingdom of the Sweets. It’s this new conception – ballet about ballet and the passion to dance – that sets this Nutcracker apart from others.
