Beautiful, Bawdy Madame the Puppet in It's Madame with an E
- Full Price:
- $29.00
- Our Price:
- $9.00 - $14.50
Before there was Paris, Lindsay or Britney, there was Madame! Created by the late, great Wayland Flowers, Madame's outrageous quips, one-liners and biting wit have made this puppet diva a cultural icon. It's Madame with an E is a hilarious romp through the life of a legendary lady -- er, puppet. There's something new, something borrowed and something very blue, so you'll want to leave the little ones at home. Learn More

Description

Carlos Mencia began visiting living rooms nationwide when his television series, Mind of Mencia, debuted on Comedy Central on July 6, 2005. Since its premiere, Mind of Mencia has relentlessly taken on topics such as ethnic stereotypes, race relations and immigration.

Mencia became known for his two solo HBO Specials, one of which received a CableACE Award nomination, and as host of the groundbreaking series, Funny Is Funny (Galavision). He was also a guest-host on back-to-back episodes of NBC's Later, and his first appearance on The Tonight Show received a standing ovation. His additional television credits include a recurring role opposite Tommy Davidson as Felix Boulevard in Hyperion Pictures' animated series, The Proud Family on the Disney Channel, as well as guest-starring roles on both The Shield and The Bernie Mac Show. In addition, he starred in his own original half-hour special for Comedy Central, Comedy Central Presents Carlos Mencia, and has been seen on such shows as CNBC's Dennis Miller, ABC's Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, HBO's Loco Slam, and Comic Relief VI.

On the big screen, Mencia's film credits include 29 Palms and Outta' Time, in which he co-starred with Mario Lopez. Mencia stars opposite Ben Stiller and Michelle Monaghan in The Heartbreak Kid, a DreamWorks film directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly.

The Three Amigos, a tour Mencia headlined in 2001-2002, was so successful it sparked the interest of industry execs and prompted Miramax Films to fund the taping of three sold-out performances as well as behind-the-scenes footage. The DVD of this film was released by Disney. StudioWorks Entertainment released his first retail DVD, Carlos Mencia: Not for the Easily Offended Live in San Jose, in 2005. In the summer of 2006, Mencia completed The Punisher Tour, a sold-out headlining stand-up tour of over 60 cities. The DVD, which features the original performance as seen on-air and an extended performance with 20 minutes of never-before-seen additional material, was released on October 10, 2006 and became the first stand-up DVD release from Comedy Central Home Entertainment to be certified platinum.
