Club is unpretentious, very casual and the staff was very accommodating and affable. I cannot recommend the food, but they do not have their full menu up yet - appetizers only for now, menu is limited and the food itself? Well, not so great.
I needed a laugh or two and I SURE got what I needed. Lovitz is a pro (and a damned good piano player, to boot) and the precursors to his monologue were very entertaining - great delivery, all of them, some funnier than others. Jon's schtick has always been somewhat obscene and irreverent, but that is a big part of his twisted appeal. Nice to have a new house of hilarity in town run, by chance, by one of the goofiest comics in the industry. His bagging on Bob Sagit at the end of the show was so excessive, that I got the impression that our little Jon has a man-crush on his fellow comic...(methinks thou protest too much, Jon??!)!

I've never seen John Lovitz perform live, and being a big fan, I had great expectations. John Lovitz certainly fulfilled all of my expectations. I had a great time during this show.
I didn’t know that John could play the piano!
This is a must see!
I got there early to get a good seat but every seat is a good seat.
There was a 2 drink/item purchase minimum.
Food was very tasty, but not the greatest. It's just like all the other Improv comedy shows type food.

Over the years, I’ve been a fan of Jon Lovitz’ comedy. However, I had never seen his stand-up until now. My friend and I had a great time! Jon is still funny after all these years! The comics that opened up for him were just as funny as Jon was! This is great because over the years, I’ve been to so many comedy clubs where the comics ranged from being mediocre to truly bad. Coming here to the Jon Lovitz Comedy Club (formerly BB King’s at Universal Citywalk) was refreshing. I hope this new comedy club will be a success!

I had a good time,I liked the place. It was a nice place to hang out. I didn't care to much for any of the acts that percided Mr Lovitz. But! he, himself, was very funny! I've been a fan of his since his SNL days.
The menue was very limited. But I had a tuna sandwich and it was really good.
So all in all, I really enjoyed seeing Jon! I also felt he went on a bit to long about Bob Sagget but what ever, I had fun.

There is a two item minimum (food or drink), but, the prices on the food and drink were very fair, e.g., $6.50 for a pint of beer and $6.00 for all desserts except the velvet cupcakes that were $3, and about $10-$12 for sandwiches and salads.
I was expecting to be gouged and had diner before showing up. Kinda wish I would have had diner there and a few pints . I opted for a pint of stella and a cupcake (total was about $10).
Dana Carvy was a special guest. He and Jon Lovitz kept me laughing for about 2 hours straight.
This is a great venue. We got there about 8 pm for the 8:30 pm show and got a table in the lower floor about 15 feet from the stage (very close). By the time the show actually started at about 8:45 pm, the place was packed.
A better plan would be to get there at 7:30pm, relax and get diner (and a few pints), and then have an even better seat for the show.
This was very good value and I was very pleased.
BTW, I left about 10 minutes into his Bob Saget spiel (I was pre-warned by the other reviews and did not feel like I would miss much by leaving early). I think a better time to leave was when he first mentioned the word Bob Saget (I do not know who Bob Saget is, but the show got very slow and pointless at that point).
HOT TIP: When Jon Lovitz utters the words "Bob Saget" it is really the end of the show; just launch yourself out of your seat and you will have a slightly better time than I did.

We had a lot of fun. Jon was great, but he could have done fewer Bob Saget jokes. The desserts were the best food on the menu - yummy carrot cake. Wish the tortilla chips had been warmed, and that the salsa had been in a bigger bowl - too small for the chips to fit into. Overall, we had a great time.

The club has three levels but it is an intimate venue. There was 5 comedians plus the host (a comedian too) and they were all hilarious. Jon Lovitz was great, I laughed all night. I will definitely come back here again for other line ups.

The atmosphere was really relaxed and cool, and there were no bad seats. Every comedian in the line-up was very funny. I was comfortable and laughed a lot. I would definitely go back to the club to see what other shows they have to offer. :)

We enjoyed the whole show, club atmosphere and service. The warm-up acts were funny and Jon Lovitz was in full form (not to say he is fat, which he is but in a cute way) and lived up to his comedy reputation from SNL and Rat Race. We laughed a lot, groaned at some parts (the Bob Sagget jokes went on too long), and left feeling that we'd had a great evening out. What more could we ask for?

Jon was great! Funny and yet very talented. He added in a musical component and wow can he sing and play really well! He had two short comedy acts before him....the first guy needed a lot of work but "A" for the effort, and the second guy was funny, which led on a good note to open Jon up. There was a two item minimum per person. I got a food item and drink. Food was average...nothing special. Also I had problems with my waitress. She brought out my bill and overcharged me by adding on a drink I had never ordered. She had a lot of problems trying to take off the item, it took her a while to figure it out...and so that ruined the evening since we waited forever for her to figure it out and to get a manager to help her. Sorry to say but no tip for her.

We normally don't go to comedy clubs because the cruel rude sexual jokes seem to have become the predominant part of the all comedy shows. My husband had seen some of Jon's shows before and liked him. So I thought we would give it another try. The atmosphere of the place was nice and the waiters were friendly but we were disappointed by Jon and his second performers' corny sex jokes that lasted since beginning of their shows. We also hated the long lasting gay jokes he made about Bob Ragit. The show would be so much better and more interesting if he didn't spend entire time talking about pussy, genitals, gay and Jews. It is just SO CORNY. I think it takes really skills to tell good jokes without being offensive. What shocked me was to see a father sitting with a young teenage boy at the front row watching this kind of show that was full of profanity and sexual contents. We are not uptight people who don't have a sense of humor. We actually really liked the the good looking young fellow who did the first performance during the night ( I think his name is Jeff). He was able to keep the audience laugh most of the time yet not saying anything extremely crude and rude. With him being the first starter, we thought for sure the rest of the night would be fun and enjoyable. But we felt the language got worse and worse and the contents of the show got cheesier and cheesier as time went by. We kind regret spending our date night at this club after hiring a baby sitter and rushing to the place after work. Can't comedy shows be of some class?

This was my first time at this venue. I was very impressed. Overall, it was a very good night of comedy. The MC, Jeff Dye, just had an off night last night. I have seen his work before and he was always much better than what he gave last night. The second comedian Quinn Daehle(forgive the mis-spelling of his last name) was absolutely "ON" for his entire set. I think there was only one joke that didn't have the crowd roaring. Jon Lovitz had a really good set. For me, it started a little slow, was excellent the rest of the way (but, I think he went a tad too long with his comedy pertaining to Bob Sagett - in my opinion). Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I will be back!

Very funny up-n-coming comics! Our server was very attentive. I suggest getting the fruit-cheese-cracker platter - cheese galore (toothpicks would be good though), lol! Jon Lovitz's stand up was funny - he's got a hilarious delivery. We're going again next week to watch Rex Navarette!
