More Information About Guitar Legend Dick Dale

Description

Guitar innovator and stylist Dick Dale was one of the most influential musicians in the creation of the California surf sounds of the 1960's. From his stage work to his appearance in the beach movies of the early 60's with Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello, Dick Dale made his mark on the guitar and not only changed the way guitar amplifiers and speakers were used but also the way they were built in order to meet the demands and power of his playing. Rock and Roll would never be the same after Dick Dale's one of a kind California sound became a national phenomenon and is universally acknowledged as a major influence on a broad range of iconic American bands from the Beach Boys to Nirvana.

Dick Dale's music was reintroduced to the world in 1994 by director Quentin Tarantino when it was used in the opening sequences of his blockbuster hit movie Pulp Fiction. Dale's music has since become synonymous with the movie's "hip sense of ultra style" and has led to a resurgence of interest in the guitar master's work the world over. Dale's importance to the world of music was made official when he was inducted into The Musician's Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee just last month
