The atmosphere is nice. The beach decorations gives that feel you're in the restaurant "Islands." The comics were pretty damn funny, esp the first one. I was laughing my butt off. There was quite a large amount of comics as well which kept the night rolling for a few hours.

The food menu is by far the worst. They have 5 menu items; chips n salsa, nachos, slider burgers, ornion rings, and something else, and tasted very bland like tostitos..when we ordered the nachos.

Also, the drinks were weak!!!!!!!!!!! at $10 a martini, which I ordered a regular dry/dirty martini, tasted like pure olive juice. Couldn't even taste the vodka, or feel it for that matter. When our bill arrived, I spoke with the manager regarding our bill/ and the quality of our drinks. The manager was very accomodating as he took off half of our bill and apologized. Friendly staff, however, our server took a ridiculous amount of unnecessary time to serve our martinis, about 20 minutes and when I asked for a glass of water, I thought "he must be in the back pumping it out of the well himself bcuz water does not take over 10 minutes to get." I would say go for the comedy, but do not order food, and if you order a drink, stick with a beer, or ask for the premium liquor as a shot or over ice... That's the only way you will get anything out of your drink orders.

I thought a night out and some good laughs would make up for a slow and hot day, but man.. was I wrong. I don't know who picks the line up, but whoever it is.. needs to be fired. I haven't been through such a painful experience like this in awhile. It was bomb after bomb after bomb, okay, then bomb after bomb. This is the 1st comedy club where the silence was more deafening than the laughter. I felt so bad for the comedians. They were trying, but not hard enough. It got so bad to the point they started checking the time and even admitted the act was failing.

My Girlfriend and I are Korean, and we were seated in front of the stage. I don't blame them. I normally like being in front and part of the jokes. After the show they come out and thank us for being good sports. As for these acts, I feel if we weren't seated there, there wouldn't have been much material left to save them. For some, it was still a failure. I told my gf to get up so we could leave and as we heading out, we were stopped by a comedian who hadn't gone yet. He wanted us to stay for his act and the following act, promising they were better than the rest. We got there at 8pm and at that time it was already 11:40pm. Was it as good as he promised? Well, no. I looked back and noticed SO many empty seats. By the time we got up to leave.. there were only a handful of people left in the crowd. I'd say about 15?

I highly recommend anyone going, to go ONLY when there's a headliner you're familiar with and know IS funny. Otherwise, you're in for a LONG painful night of 20 horrible acts. Who knows.. maybe we went in during bomb season, but that place left a nasty taste in our mouths.

I would say that about half of the comics were pretty good. There were some that actually started to clear out the audience. T Rexx was the funniest of all so if you get a chance to catch his act, it's worth it. It was a lengthy process with so many acts doing 5 minute bits that at the end the last act, whom wasn't all that funny, we were all ready to call it a night. The waiter(s) need improvement. There was only one, he didn't bring us a menu and took long to bring our drinks. I can't really complain since they were comp tickets but with a 2 drink/food minimum per person rule there service needs improvement. This is the 2nd time I attend so I hope there will be a third.

We LOVE Jon Lovitz, but the comedy club in his name lacked much real talent during the "Showcase". Our tickets said the showtime was 8:30 but we sat there until 9:15 before it started. Also, we had to go to the bar to get our drinks (two waiters for the whole night), and when we did the bartender was texting someone and we had to wait. That was rude (employees should have to keep their cell phones in lockers during work... Period! Finally, there were no free nibbles and no offer of a menu for appetizers or food during our whole stay. At this pace the club won't be around for long, so only go there to see Jon Lovitz or a comedian that you already know you'll want to see!

We were looking for something out of the ordinary for my daughter's 22nd birthday. The show was fun. It was a comedy showcase so there were many comics that performed that night. We saw about 10 comedians and only one was painful to get through. The rest were funny and their materal was strong. I would suggest that you eat at a restaurant at Citywalk before the show. The drinks were fine. The MC was funny in that
"MC" kind of way and overall we had a good time. I want to return on Monday night for the live band karaoke. That sounds like fun. I think they should add dessert to their menu, just to satisfy the sweet tooth.

The show was entertaining...they are working on expanding their menu at the moment, but for now the food options were a bit limited. I recommend calling them first to see about dinner/food situation as there are plenty of other restaurants up at CityWalk if you want to do a whole dinner & a show evening. They told me they are adding some dessert options in the next week or two so it seems like they are aware of the need to expand in this area.

They were playing some very pretty, but very mellow music from Tia Carrera before the show. While it was lovely, it was not high energy at all and I think the show was a bit slow at the start because the crowd had been gently lulled by the pre-show music, instead of revved up.

The comedians were good overall..some like the headliner..were extremely funny. This was a night that they had like 20 comics on for 7 minutes each. I think I would rather they limit it to maybe 15 and give them another minute or so or give the headliner a few more minutes. Then cut out the truly lame ones (like the puppet guy...although he did provide laughs for the comedians that followed!).

It was lots of fun. Some comics were better than others, but all were great. We'll be going back with more friends soon. So glad we found this on Goldstar.

All I can say is that the workmen trying to fix the front door were funnier than the comedians. Not only that but they were 45min. to an hour late starting the show. To tell you the truth the whole thing sucked, what a complete waste of time. My advise, don't go.

The John Lovitz Comedy Club has an environment that is made for comedy and comics. It has a unique setting that is setup for laughter. All of the comedians had their unique styles which made it more funny and very enjoyable.

Many of the comics were very funny and maybe the time limit should be based on crowd response.

I like Frazer Smith as the MC, but he has used the same material with very little new stuff. Also, his dialog should be shorter to speed the comics along to keep the show running smoother.

Start closer to “on time” :)

We really liked the club, nice atmosphere and decor. Choice of appetizers was fair, a bit too greasy. The comics were OK, some better than others. We felt the vulgarity was a bit excessive, they all use the same phrases over and over. Can comedy not be funny anymore when it's clean?

The venue is beautiful. You can see the comedians from anywhere in the house. Very intimate setting. We enjoyed the comedians we saw. However, the service was ridiculously poor. You are supposed to order 2 of something(FOOD OR DRINK) which is fair. We would have ordered 2 each if the waitress had come around more than once. We were there for 3 hours and she didn't show up until the end with our check. She also tried to get me to pay her while a performer was on stage, which I thought was very rude and distracting of her and didn't show any respect for the performer. They also tack on an 18% tip on your bill, so watch out for that. FYI, we didn't eat there...Eat and drink cheaper elsewhere and order the iced tea here...cheapest thing on the menu...if you can get someone to serve you!

The lineup really needs help. Mr. Lovitz, this comedy club is in your name, don't let it be in vain.

Horrible! Except for one comedian (from House Bunny) who is an excellent piano player too, the rest were awful. We paid for the tix and then found out that they were GIVING AWAY free tickets at the door! There was a two item minimum and even the iced tea wasn't good. The cookies are from Jerry's deli, so they are okay. The place itself is wonderful, but it's ruined by a Hawaiian stage decor. Who thought of that! Not only is the food and drinks overpriced, and the tickets cost money, but it's also a $10.00 parking fee. If you go for dinner ahead of time....it's big bucks for the evening...and this was a WEEKNIGHT! Not worth it at all. SORRY!

My wife and I had a great time. A comic or 2 was not "on" 100% of the time, but that was ok. Wish Jon was there.

Wife wanted pinot or sav. blanco as a white wine, than asked for Baileys on the rocks...settled for mixed drink :(

Power packed! Back to back great comics. Relentless. One after the other! Comics you've seen on late night shows and Comedy Central, and some even some locals. Lots of energy, great host, good food, relaxed, friendly atmosphere. It looked like the whole crowd had a blast the whole night.
