We really enjoyed the Ailey II Dance Company's performance. There was variety in the type of dances and music that appealed to a broad audience of all ages. The dancers were passionate and very entertaining. We had excellent seats on the main floor near the center. Familiar to Chicago audiences through their sister company Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s annual spring performances at the Auditorium Theatre, Ailey II makes its Center debut this November. Universally renowned for merging the spirit and energy of the country's best young dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today's most outstanding emerging choreographers, Alvin Ailey personally appointed former Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater member Sylvia Waters as Ailey II’s artistic director in 1974. Under her direction, Ailey II has become one of the most popular dance companies in the country.
