An absurdist tragicomedy originally published in 1960, The Caretaker was Nobel Prize-winning writer Harold Pinter's first major success. Frequently likened to Samuel Beckett's classic Waiting for Godot, The Caretaker revolves around the mentally challenged Aston, the fast-talking tramp he invites to stay with him, and Mick (Aston's younger brother, housemate and caretaker). The Caretaker stands as a prime example of Pinter's masterful ability to mix darkness, humor and humanity. For this Imago Theatre production, Jerry Mouawad directs Allen Nause in the lead role. Life With Father
By Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse
Directed by Jaynie Roberts
This delightful comedy set in the late 1800s centers around the unfortunate discovery that "Father" (Clarence Day, Sr.) has not been baptized and is therefore doomed. Father's bubbly wife, Vinnie, and their four red-headed sons plot and scheme to get Father baptized and in the process restore the legitimacy of the marriage and all four births! A constant stream of maids and out-of-town visitors add to the hilarity, while in the background, the eldest son discovers the unexpected charm of females.
