When a young man from the wrong side of the tracks is on trial for murder, the 12 members of the jury must overcome their own prejudices and assumptions to reach a consensus on his fate. The verdict is nearly unanimous when the single dissenter forces them to face their own prejudices and unite their conflicting personalities to find true justice. Reginald Rose's riveting drama is usually performed as Twelve Angry Men, but this adaptation by Sherman L. Sergel features an all-female jury. In homage to the era in which the play takes place, the set, costumes and props are all black, white and gray.

Full Price:
$12.00
Our Price:

With five actors playing 39 characters, the acting is almost as daunting as the itinerary in Around the World in 80 Days. Taking considerably less time than the title would suggest, this fast-paced comedy races across 26 locations around the globe in a hilarious adaptation of Jules Verne's adventure novel. Follow English bachelor Phileas Fogg and his faithful manservant Passepartout as they attempt to make good on a £20,000 wager that they can circumnavigate the globe in record time. However, before too long into their journey, they encounter stampeding elephants, raging typhoons and the occasional runaway train ... will they ever complete the trip in time? Bryan Schmidt directs this whirlwind of a show at the Magenta Theater. Learn More

Excellent staging, the music, the set were perfect for the era. The casting was appropriate for the roles they were portraying.

Yhis was a somewhat loose interpretation of the movie "Twelve Angry Men." It was well done and kept with the times (the 50s) in color, role definition and style. It was a serious drama with small tidbits of humor.

I enjoyed the all-women cast, but would have liked to see a court case different from the original - a topic that would have made an all-woman panel even more gripping. I was impressed by the cast; each woman made her role come alive with quirks and attitudes. I also enjoyed the venue; great acoustics!
