Anonymous Member Waste of money. One room full of geeky adults and their kids, with really small lego creations. Was expecting huge sculpture-type stuff. Who wants to pay to watch a nerd play chess with an old man using a board made of lego?

More Details About This Event: Are you too old to play with LEGO? No! Can you recapture that childhood thrill of Christmas morning again? Yes! BrickFair '08, DC LEGO Fan Festival brings together AFOLs (Adult Fans Of LEGO) from across the country and around the world. It's a chance to re-ignite your love of LEGO and to share in creative play with other adults and your own children. The public is welcome to browse the BrickFair expo. Train layouts stretch as far as the eye can see. The "Great Ball Contraption" is always a hoot! Vendors will be selling special LEGO items, including LEGO-by-the-piece and individual minifigs. Visitors enjoy discounts at local restaurants. BrickFair marks the return of the LEGO fan festival to the Washington DC area. It is held in the Sheraton Premiere Hotel in Tysons Corner, VA – stumbling distance to the local LEGO store. BrickFair is raising $10,000 for The SladeChild Foundation (www.SladeChild.org), a childrens' charity based in Maryland. Public ticket sales support this fundraising. About BrickFair: AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO) are the backbone of BrickFair. The event is run by AFOLs, for AFOLs.
