What A World features live footage of Boston's eclectic musicians' collective DÜNYA. The film presents the ensemble's concert performance of 20th century Turkish music, as well as interviews and insights into the surprising cultural and musical links between Boston and Turkey. DÜNYA, which takes its name from the Turkish, Arabic, Persian and Greek word for "world," has explored a wide range of music from around the world since its 2004 debut. The diverse group includes specialists in early European and Jewish music, jazz and contemporary pop sounds. Members will be on-hand for brief discussions before and after the screening. Learn More

An enjoyable evening. My husband and I particularly enjoyed Act I. We loved the performances of South Pacific and Oklahoma numbers. Act II was completely different as the show reenacted a radio show. The skits were fun to watch but lot's of the music in Act II was not familiar to us. Overall, this was a high energy performance and you could see that the singers and dancers really enjoyed doing it. I do recommend this event if it comes to your town.
