Members Who Went Said:I thought the performances from three talented young actors, especially Andres Talero, were spectacular. I hate to single out one player in an ensemble of this sort because there's a worry that it might upset the delicate balance but these three actors need not worry. Talero plays the most sympathetic and easiest to relate to and empathize with. The script has some problems. I don't like violence on stage. There was a reason the Greeks kept it off and reported on stage but this violence was well choreographed and under control. Still, the text itself, poetic in parts, needs shaping although I loved the ending. There's a sense of poetic justice, order restored when dad knocks on the door. I hope this playwright keeps writing but moves into more sunlit areas. Rosalind Lacy MacLennan |

More Details About This Event: ANIMA offers a gritty depiction of an interdependent and ultimately destructive relationship by illustrating the poisonous results of living one's life for someone else. Ella, trapped by expectations of the men surrounding her, struggles to free herself from a volatile relationship with Vlad, a parasite reliant on her for his emotional survival. When James, a shaken Iraq war veteran arrives at Ella and Vlad’s apartment needing a place to stay, a violent power struggle between the three explodes on stage.
